R2W represent 2 witness Funded by The Lilly Endowment, Inc. R2W nurtures a cadre of young Asian and Pacific Islander (API) and other youth of color faith leaders with the leadership tools, competencies, and character required to represent their faith, heritage, and community in witness to God’s demand for love, peace, and justice. Our goal is to provide API youth and other youth of color a comprehensive leadership program of personal spiritual formation, theological competence, cultural/historical awareness and transformative intercession. R2W is generating API youth leaders as emerging examples of PSR’s commitment to train bold representatives of the Gospel who pioneer progressive directions in Christian tradition. These young leaders represent the “leading edge” of PSR – expanding theological education to develop new leaders who speak and act authoritatively about faith, culture, and justice in contemporary American life. |

Pacific School of Religion
Whether you are an alum catching up on events on campus, a prospective student exploring possible seminaries, or a religious leader seeking resources for your church or faith community, we are glad you found us. PSR was founded in 1866 by Congregationalists as an ecumenical theological school—the first graduate seminary west of the Mississippi. We are a seminary of the United Church of Christ with special relationships with The United Methodist Church and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Our students come from more than two dozen religious traditions. We are a member of the Graduate Theological Union, a unique consortium of nine independent schools and ten program centers and affiliates located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hope you will get a sense of the excitement we feel for the future of this special place. We are committed, in the words of our direction statement, to serving God by equipping historic and emerging faith communities for ministries of justice and compassion in a changing world. On these pages you will discover some of the ways this commitment is embodied in our programs and people. There is no better way to get to know PSR than to visit our campus in Berkeley, and no better time to visit than our main worship service of the week, held each Tuesday morning during the academic year at 11:10 AM in the PSR Chapel. We hope you will join us. Learn more about PSR at www.psr.edu |
